Human-Aware Pilot Screening From First Filter to Final Streaming
IPASS combines remote pre-screening, desktop simulation-based testing, and immersive mission assessment into one integrated system for military pilot selection and streaming.
The Cost of Getting Selection Wrong
Pilot selection is expensive and slow. It leans heavily on instructor capacity that is always limited, and on early-stage assessments that do not fully predict how a candidate will perform later in training. Air forces commit training slots, aircraft hours and instructor time before they have the evidence to be confident in the decision, and find out the result at the most expensive point in the pipeline.
Assess Combat Pilot Potential Earlier
IPASS gives air forces a standardized, data-driven way to assess pilot potential earlier in the process, improve candidate streaming, and reduce the cost and risk of training unsuitable candidates. Streaming is the decision about which aircraft type a cadet is suited to.
One Platform, Solutions for Every Selection Stage
IPASS supports air forces across the entire pilot selection journey, from large candidate pools to advanced streaming and role-fit decisions.
Stage one: high-volume screening, before any on-site assessment.
RST gives large candidate populations a standardized simulation-based test they complete remotely, on a personal computer. Candidates fly short tutorial and assessment scenarios that capture measurable performance throughout the test. No dedicated simulator facility is needed at this stage.
A fast, scalable way to identify the candidates with the strongest potential, so assessment center time and instructor hours go to the candidates most likely to progress.
Stage two: deeper assessment of shortlisted candidates, on site.
SBT assesses candidates on a desktop flight simulator with physical flight controls and integrated eye tracking. It evaluates flight performance alongside cognitive and behavioral indicators across four areas: aircraft control, attention and situational awareness, tactical performance, and resource management.
A performance profile for each candidate that supports more accurate selection. One structured IPASS assessment delivers the predictive insight of ten airborne training sorties.
Stage three: assessment under full mission conditions, supporting streaming.
IPASS XR extends the assessment into an immersive flight simulation environment with physical controls and integrated eye tracking. It measures how a pilot manages the aircraft, information, attention and workload through a mission, and separates errors that look the same on the surface but come from different underlying causes.
Data-driven performance profiles that support suitability decisions across fixed-wing, rotary-wing and navigator roles.
IPASS XR is currently in development.
Built on billions of analyzed data points
Standardized pilot assessment in just four hours
Than legacy selection systems
Performance Intelligence for Pilot Selection
IPASS captures simulator telemetry, control inputs, flight-path performance, visual attention, behavioral response patterns, and task outcomes to build a deeper, more objective picture of each candidate.
Data-Driven Selection Decisions
IPASS achieved nearly 90% forecast accuracy, validated longitudinally over four years using real-world pilot performance data. The system helps air forces identify training potential earlier and allocate assessment resources more efficiently.
